Two Sky-High California Treasures Currently On The Market

Bel Air's "Orum Residence," listed for $56 million.

Maybe this is what California dreaming is all about. Two avant-garde, panoramic residences on the Golden State market are generating attention—one architecturally in southern California, the other musically in northern California. Pricing and design vary greatly, but both are audacious and available. These listed homes boldly go where few dare.

La Dolce Vita

Elegant “Casa Lago” –a secluded, gated Tuscan-style villa overlooking L.A.’s Stone Canyon Reservoir–offers the allure of Lake Como living

Close your eyes and picture yourself relaxing on a peaceful terrace in the charming Italian city of Bellagio, while peering out over the sky-blue waters of Lake Como. Now, open your eyes to the fact that globetrotting superstar George Clooney is not the only one who should have all the fun of soaking up a stellar waterside panorama.

With this new upper Bel-Air estate set alongside L.A.’s version of Lake Como— the private Stone Canyon Reservoir—you too can spend your days sipping libations from the comfort of your very own Italian-inspired villa as palm trees sway idly in the breeze. All of this heavenly reverie—complete with breathtaking 300-degree blue water vistas and vibrant hillside gardens to boot—can be had for $32.5 million.

As Bel-Air’s closest property to the reservoir’s waterfront—at 1940 Bel-Air Road, on the end of a cul-de-sac—the views are certainly one of its best features. But the platform from which to survey the scenery is pretty stupendous as well.
